MapMyFitness has direct integration with: Apple Watch, Apple Health, Garmin Connect, Suunto, MyFitnessPal, UA Connected Footwear, and Bluetooth heart rate monitors.
⚠️ FitBit is no longer compatible with MapMyFitness as of 2026. Fitbit users will need an intermediary app (see the next question).
MapMyFitness does not have direct integration with these platforms. To use them, you can use third-party apps such as Health Sync, FitnessSyncer, or SyncMyTracks, which transfer data between services. Please consult the documentation for each app to choose the one that best fits your device.
Use of these apps is at your own risk; any issues must be resolved with their respective support teams.
They are variations of the same application. Your account and data are valid across all of them; only the default activity type when starting a workout changes. You can use any of them.
No. The free version is sufficient to participate. The MVP plan adds advanced training features, but they are not required for the challenge.
Synchronization between MapMyFitness and the challenge website occurs every 8 hours. If you have just finished an activity and it hasn't appeared yet, please wait for the next sync cycle.
No. To ensure fairness, only activities recorded automatically by the app or a compatible device are accepted. Manually entered or modified activities will not sync.
- Check that the activity appears in MapMyFitness with the correct type and distance.
- Verify that you haven't manually edited the record. Edited activities are not exported.
- Wait for the next automatic sync (maximum 8 hours).
- If it still doesn't appear after several syncs, unlink and re-link your MapMyFitness account from the challenge website.
⚠️ If the activity does not appear in MapMyFitness, it cannot sync to the website. Check the app first.
Some Garmin models may have issues sending swim sessions to MapMyFitness if pool length information is missing. Follow these steps:
- Set the pool length on your watch before starting the session.
- Verify that Garmin Connect and MapMyFitness are correctly linked. If it fails, revoke and re-authorize the connection in the MapMyFitness "Apps & Devices" section.
- If the problem persists, you can use Health Sync or FitnessSyncer as a bridge between Garmin Connect and MapMyFitness.
If you have a technical problem or a question not listed in this FAQ, please write to us at info@furtherwego.net.
For questions regarding synchronization with Garmin or other third-party services, please also consult the MapMyFitness help section or your intermediary app's documentation.
